Chocolate Dipped Spoons

Loved them? Make more!

Melt chocolate according to directions (chocolate chips, bakers chocolate, coating bark...)
Add flavored extracts to chocolate if desired (peppermint, Kahlua, orange, etc...)
Dip spoons into chocolate to cover entire "bowl" of spoon.
Sprinle chocolate with crushed candy canes, sprinkles, etc.
Set spoon on wax paper and allow chocolate to harden in refrigerator.
Wrap each spoon in cellophane and tie with ribbon!

Friendship Soup in a Jar

Have you tried it yet? It's great and the leftovers are just as good! If you'd like to make a jar and pass on the friendship, here is the info:

Friendship Soup in a Jar

Jar ingredients:
1/2 cup dried split peas
1/3 cup beef boullion granules
1/4 cup pearl barley
1/2 cup dried lentils
1/4 cup dried onion flakes
2 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 ½ C uncooked small pasta (alphabet, orzo, ditalini, small elbows or shells)

In a quart jar, layer the ingrediens in order. Seal tightly. Cover the lid with a cirle of fabric, then attach instructions and secure around the lid with ribbon.


Friendship Soup in a Jar

additional Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
3 quarts water
28 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
6 ounce can tomato paste
Black pepper to taste
Garlic powder to taste

To prepare the soup:
Remove pasta from top of jar and set aside. In a large pot over medium heat, brown beef with pepper and garlic powder, drain any excess fat. Add the tomatoes, water and soup mix. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add the reserved pasta, cover and simmer 15-20 minutes more or until the pasta, peas, lentils and barly are tender.
